“Weird — looks to me from the front like the man was strangled, too. No blood from the neck, but clear marks of something thin — not wire, but maybe a thin rope like packing twine. Not sure. I see what I think are little blood spots called ‘conjunctival petechia’ — blood spots in the eyes of strangulation victims. Not certain without a closer look, but I’ll tell you now the coroner’s gonna say the same thing. Some swelling or ‘edema’ in the face.

Why the hell would you strangle somebody you done already shot or stabbed, or stab somebody you already done strangled? Damn. Somebody wanted this guy dead, sure.”
